Our Programs
Everyday purchases at local businesses can help fund schools and eligible nonprofits. Here is how it works, and how schools, businesses, nonprofits and philanthropic partners can take part.
How It Works
A simple cycle of everyday generosity
Local Businesses Give Back
Businesses contribute a portion of eligible purchases, or a set amount, when customers choose to support a school or nonprofit.
Communities Support Participating Businesses
Families, educators, and neighbors choose participating local businesses for products and services they already need.
Schools and Nonprofits Receive Their Givebacks
Biz4Ed Foundation collects and distributes designated business contributions to the school or nonprofit the supporter selected.
Philanthropic Partners Expand the Impact
Separate contributions from corporate partners, foundations, sponsors, and individual donors fund foundation operations and create matching opportunities for Title I schools.
No school or nonprofit gives up the support it earns. Philanthropic contributions create additional impact beyond the original business giveback.
Every Giveback Goes Where It Belongs
100% of every designated business giveback
When a business contributes through the Biz4Ed network, 100% of that designated giveback goes to the school or nonprofit selected by the supporter — no administrative or operating expenses are deducted. That’s what separate philanthropic support is for.
Business givebacks
Go entirely to the designated school or nonprofit.
Philanthropic contributions
Help sustain the foundation and expand its impact.
More Than Traditional Fundraising
Ongoing support, not another campaign
Traditional fundraising depends on volunteers, seasonal campaigns, and repeated requests for families to spend more. Biz4Ed Foundation takes a different approach — connecting local businesses with the people and organizations they already serve, so support is generated through the purchases happening throughout the community every day, all year long.
Expanding Opportunity Through Matching Partnerships
Closing the resource gap between schools
Not every school has equal access to fundraising resources or high-value business partnerships. Philanthropic matching directs additional resources to nearby Title I schools facing the greatest need.
Illustrative example: four schools each keep the full $10,000 they earned; a philanthropic partner adds $40,000 for designated Title I schools.
For Schools
Turn everyday relationships into school funding
Your school community already shops, hires local service providers, and supports neighborhood businesses. Biz4Ed Foundation helps turn those existing relationships into meaningful financial support for your school.
Participating schools can:
- Receive 100% of their designated business givebacks.
- Create an additional source of ongoing school funding.
- Strengthen relationships with local businesses.
- Give families and community members an easy way to support their school.
- Participate without relying on another traditional fundraising campaign.
Why it works for schools
No car washes, no wrapping paper, no volunteer coordination — just the purchases your families are already making, redirected toward the school they care about.
For Businesses
Make an everyday impact on the community you serve
Local businesses play an essential role in building strong communities. By participating in the Biz4Ed network, businesses can support the schools and charitable organizations their customers care about.
Business partners can:
- Choose the contribution structure that works for their business.
- Support schools and eligible nonprofits connected to their community.
- Strengthen relationships with local families and organizations.
- Make a meaningful impact through everyday customer transactions.
Every designated business giveback is directed to the school or eligible nonprofit selected by the supporter.
The business network is operated by Biz4Ed, a separate company.
Ask About Business ParticipationWhy it works for businesses
Customers already choose where to spend. Participating gives them one more reason to choose you — and lets your business show up for the schools your customers care about.
For Nonprofit Organizations
Strong communities are supported by more than schools
Local nonprofits, youth organizations, and other eligible charitable organizations also help improve lives and strengthen neighborhoods. Biz4Ed Foundation welcomes opportunities to work with eligible nonprofit partners interested in connecting their supporters with participating local businesses.
When supporters shop with businesses in the Biz4Ed network, qualifying purchases can generate contributions for the organization they choose to support.
Participating nonprofits can:
- Create an additional source of ongoing community support.
- Build relationships with local businesses.
- Give supporters a simple way to contribute through everyday purchases.
- Participate in a broader network dedicated to strengthening the community.
Why it works for nonprofits
Your supporters are already customers of local businesses. This turns that overlap into an ongoing, low-effort source of support alongside your existing fundraising.
